Well every month we have a great village magazine posted through our doors, it is always very informative on village goings on and I have had a few mentions and added a few bits which is always a great feeling. The editor is now looking for more input from villagers which he may find a few more coming his way from me!
However the fairly new addition of "Letters Page" has bought with it a flurry of to's and fro's regarding the amount of Dog Poo in the Village it does seem to be a subject close to many in urban or rural areas.
Now I have to say that whilst everyone of course in entitled to have their point of view. Some of the views are either a bit close to the mark, a rant or in some cases well thought out. Yes I do have a dog well one and a half as now our new family addition of 10 weeks Basil the Border Terrier has arrived! and so I like to think I have a very good ethos of picking their business up. I am also paranoid about them getting out and if they seem to make a nuisance of themselves - not only would I be totally embarrassed I do not want to be known as the or that lady who can't control her dogs or her kids.
Ok I have to put my hand up twice Poppy the BT has followed me out of the house unbeknown to me and it's not until about 30 mins later I have asked "has anyone seen Poppydog?" as I frantically turn the house upside down that I hear a single bark at the front door and there she is patiently waiting for me. I would just die if someone saw her and whipped her away as she was is my first baby. Yes I do have 2 cats and have had 6 in total but the 2 I have now - one is completely in charge of us all and the other one is a neurotic torty - if you have one - you know what I am talking about.
But back to the Dog Poo! there are two types of people in the world those that care and those that don't and those that don't will never change and maybe I do agree with the person who wrote in our magazine that they shouldn't be allowed to keep dogs but how do you make them pick up ? I welcome all suggestions and then I can write a constructive article for my Village magazine.
I'm a Mummy to two beautiful children, a wife, owned by my TWO Border Terriers and 2 Cats! We live between the Fens and the Wash and I enjoy watching the skyscape change from one moment to the next.

Trees - I do so love them
Trees
I hate being late for anything, and this week I just so wanted to add to the Gallery topic as it was Trees as I do like taking pictures of Trees, so if it’s alright with you I’m still going to post it on my post and hopefully next time I will get my butt into gear and meet the deadline!
We have some wonderful trees in our Village, I don’t like to admit to it but I am unable to name them [mental note to oneself - will add this to my TODO list].
When I look at Trees they make me feel at peace with the Village, the earth and help me find my own stillness. They enable me to take a breath and refocus my internal clock, a kind of reloading point again.
I do have pictures of the trees at different seasons, different times in the day and from different locations. but these are mostly of Winter.
If you want to see more click on the links below and if you like taking pics why not join in - but make sure you get there on time!

The Woman just had to escape
It's getting to that time of the year when seeing village life gets a little less as the nights draw in as the inhabitants hurry to and fro from work to home.
I seemed to have had a bit of a exhausting and frustrating day yesterday and managed to get to escape the house to go and do the shopping, not much of an escape and yes/no should I have shopped on a Sunday, I would like to be in the position that I don't have to but at the moment this is not the case.
And whilst it was an opportunity for me to escape the kids, husband, housework the list is getting endless, I think I met my karma in that I was stopped dead in my tracks of driving through the countryside at a modest speed only to come across an invasion of road runners who had decided to hold a run through the countryside at just this particular time, whilst any other time I would have said they were mad and laughed.
I found myself irritated to the hilt that they had stopped me getting to my destination in the manner I wanted to get there and as a rebellious teenager of 39 going on 13 I turned up my Katy Perry CD [yes think midlife crisis is hitting] as loud as I could bare it and when there was a gap in the man made traffic unfortunately found a little wheel spin that even shocked me - I was a woman on a mission and I didn't want to be stopped.
So in case by a million to one chance one of those road runners is reading this I am not sorry to say and please understand "the woman had to escape the village as quickly as she could".

Out of the Village - should I be?
Well here I am out of the Village, I am on a very bumpy train to Newcastle for work [well I'm not now - as I am not in 1st Class so I do not get complementary access to the internet - so I am now typing this whilst in my non descriptive room - or should I say where I am staying and give it a good review? maybe once I have left the building so to speak].
Anyway, as I was saying - I'm out! I haven't really been out of the village for a while away on my own and so may say as I new Mummy I shouldn't be - but bills need to be paid, Osbourne as had his say [is that pith stuck in my tooth] and I need to be out to work in order to have a comfortable life. I will be ringing my darling kiddiewinks in a short while who probably won't notice I have gone as they have the child minder, Daddy, Nanna & Grandpa to look after them, how will I cope ummm probably a sleepless night not have the baby monitor in the room - but I will let you know!!!!!
So I started to write this blog in long hand on the train in my "blogging notepad", I had lost a pen, which I'm sure was in my hand and then the train was going round a bend and being quite bumpy and I then realised that I had to check my work Raspberry thing and the pen had vanished, I kept checking every so often to see if it appeared and bless it it did later on.
Ahhh York I [heart] York! the station is lovely bustling feeling watching everyone saying hello, goodbye and damm I've missed that train. I have just finished reading my work for my meeting tomorrow and so now can look out the window, I can see rain clouds blowing over hills/mountains [our Village is below sea level!]a lovely feeling with Adagio In G Minor by Albioni playing on my ipod, and thinking about the last time I was on the train - it was a more stressful journery with me + 2 toddlers + Nanna and 4.5 hours travelling not being able to sit still for more than half an hour.
Don't want to make this too long an entry as may do more later tonight!!! but have now arrived at Hotel and have changed rooms - which was carried out very nicely by the receptionist - I was facing another grey building overlooking a dreary courtyard, now I can see the SAGE building and just about the millenium bridge see pics for views outside my window and the room is quite refreshingly cool!
Out to tea catch u later !

The eve of my birthday
I'm terrible, I'm like a little kid - I love Birthdays even if I have to make my own cake, remind the husband in countdown fashion that it's 4 weeks to my birthday, 3 weeks to my birthday, 2 weeks [you get the jist!]
Just finished making the cake - will ice it tormorrow, just plain white I think and then made some Panna Cotta yum yum.
So I have just sat down with a nice cup of tea and rung my Mum to tell her that I will miss her tomorrow, but will see her later in the week and arrange to meet up for a nice lunch, we also remember my Grandma's Birthday as she would have been 93 years old today and reflect on the day as it is the Feast day of the Guardian Angels as well http://saints.sqpn.com/guardian-angels/
I relayed the latest antics of the grandchildren to her which made us both laugh - Son would not stop talking for a 2 1/2 year old he certainly goes on and on, we were driving to the supermarket and I asked him to have a sleep on the way and he said ok and I looked in the rear view mirror and the kid had gone to sleep!
Daughter did not seem happy with her clothes today she told Daddy that her jeans were broken - in fact they were fashionably adorned with false patchwork squares, so we told her that she was our little fashion princess, somehow I don't think she was convinced.
Took Poppy Dog for a walk after tea, but unfortunately we came home with her a bag of nerves as some village folk have decided to shoot at pigeons and hearing the shot guns going off in close range became a little scarry for both Poppy and me, these are the sorts of village sounds that we tend to hear now and again, I don't mind them from a distance but less that 100 metres too close!
Lets hope it's a good day tomorrow - even if it rains which is a 99.9% chance that it will.

Autumn is here
Well have managed to take Poppy Dog for a lovely walk this morning, in between dropping kids off at nursery and cramming 2 slices of toast and 1/2 cup of tea down. Well when I stepped out - what a gorgeous morning it is! the sun is out, the sky is blue with no clouds, the birds are singing and the air is chilled, I just seem to love every season here in our village.
The dew was very heavy this morning and I'm not too sure how I looked trekking over the field in my big wellies, warm green jacket a lovely woolly hat to go with it and my office skirt! having to dash in a mo for a meeting with the Environment Agency, but I was warm and cosy and Poppy Dog was happy sniffing the air and having a lovely streeetch. She was a little bit naughty as she crossed the dyke and started to play in the farmers field, and managed to entice her back with a lovely doggy biscuit, works every time ;).
Now just finishing my other 1/2 of cup of tea before climbing in my car and picking up the toys and clothes strewn around the house from our early morning dash.

dog gone tired!
It's monday and i've now been trying to write a blog post for about an hour, lack of sleep, curiosity and oh yes the blinking internet keeps crashing - one out of 3 of these things is because I live in a VILLAGE!!! and it's not the one being tired or curious!!! WHY WHY WHY does technology take soooooooooo long to get to us in the VILLAGE, I love living in the village really I do but lets hope this government is going to help bring broadband to everyone soon!
Anyway I am very tired because beautiful son managed to sleep for 2 hours in the car yesterday and we got no sleep last night! He has now been asleep since I got home from work so have not spoken to him other than to soothe him back to sleep when I transferred him from sofa to bed! He is like a beautiful angel, sleeping in a world of no worries. This then gave me time to have one to one with daughter and we had a lovely bathtime and then a lovely big cuddle in bed where I nearly fell asleep for the rest of the night. Think Husband is starting to feel like a blog widower! so better sign off and tidy up before I fall alseep sitting here.

Wednesday 2nd September 2010
Sound of the alarm went at 6:10 which instantly meant movement in my sons room - "Morning Mummy" boomed through the baby monitor and then came the clonk click of the bedroom door, my son had awoken in a lot better mood than he had gone to bed in, which was a result of too much fun and no sleeptime at Nursery the day before. My daughter was not so happy in her mood as she awoke 15mins later "Mummy, Mummy" is all we get through the monitor as D and I drink our hot tea and warm bottle of Milk. Once in the car ready for Nursery -yes I try to be an ecomummy but living in a village when trying to get everyone ready for the day ahead and having to traverse past tractors, dog walkers, baby moorhens, chickens and sheep our vehicle gets us there quicker. and we still have time to look out the window and comment upon the mist or fog, the animals and clouds in the sky. Poppy Dog sits in the front seat licking lips as we pass the chickens and bends gentley into the 90 degree bend. Kids dropped off at Nursery, kissed and waved goodbye to [makes me feel a warm glow and proud and partly wanting to stay with them and have fun too] but back home to walk Poppy Dog before a full day in the home office with another nice warm cup of tea.
